We’ve compiled our best advice on metal finishes in the home for you to learn from! And if you need some more help, well, you know where to find us!

Whether you’re a Type A or  a Type B personality, you may have questions about what metal finishes will look best in your house. Type A people may be looking for the perfect metal, not metals, because the mere thought of mixing metals throws you for an absolute loop. Whereas Type B people may want to mix every metal finish in the book without realizing that it’s not exactly ideal for aesthetics.

Not to worry, we’re here to help! We’re here to tell you there are many options! Having more than one metal in your home is ok! In fact, if it’s done right, metal mixing can be absolutely stunning. We’ve compiled our best advice on metal finishes in the home for you to learn from! And if you need some more help, well, you know where to find us!

Metal finishes are much more important these days then they used to be. This might be because our colour palettes are much more neutral than they used to be. And one way to add spice to the room without painting your walls bright yellow is with a crisp metal accessory. Thankfully, golds are much softer these days, and very on trend.

If gold scares you, we suggest pairing it with black. Black finishes offer great contrast, and the mixture of black and gold (although we admit, sounds a little scary) is actually gorgeous! This is a great way to mix two metals in one room.

If mixing metals in one room is just too much for you, we understand. In this case, we suggest mixing metals by room. Maybe your kitchen has gold fixtures while your restroom has silver. Or your family room has black fixtures and your kitchen has silver.

If none of these colours seem like your vibe, then play it safe. There is nothing wrong with polished nickel. It’s warm, and perfectly under- stated.
